The success of Kingfisher Residential Home has been built by providing quality care and by meeting the day to day needs of it's residents within a warm and friendly home. We are able to offer you quality accommodation in a caring and safe environment.

The home is privately owned by John and Debbie Lee and managed by our registered manageress Julia Tilley, we are all always available to you at any time to discuss any aspect of moving into a Residential Care Home. In addition to permanent residential care we also offer short term residential and respite care subject to availability, we also have a limited number of day care places.

 
We are a member of the Lancashire Care Association and as a member we undertake to carry out this association's code of practice, this includes allowing each resident their rights of citizenship including privacy, dignity and independence. These rights form the basic philosophy of our principles of care and are practised without exception by all of our members of Management and Staff.
 
Location
 
The home is situated north of Cleveleys town centre heading in the direction of Fleetwood, Crossway is off Thornton Gate. Local shops, Rossall Road Post office, Cleveleys Branch Library, and the sea front are all within walking distance and Cleveleys town centre is easily accessible Transport can be provided by the home at the request of residents. 
 
Accommodation & Services
 
We offer both single and companion rooms, all are provided with a television, tea making facilities are provided should you require them.

Two spacious lounges are available for the enjoyment of residents, one having a large screen television and an electric organ frequently used by visiting entertainers. The second lounge provides a more peaceful setting for those who wish to relax or read.

 

Other facilities and services offered for your comfort and enjoyment are our pleasant gardens with seating. A stair lift to the first floor and assisted bathing is available if required.

Regular visits are made by the District Nurse, Chiropodist & Hairdresser. 

If you require to see your General Practitioner, Dentist, Optician or any other practitioner we will be happy to make the appointment and accompany you to the surgery. Supervision of medication can be carried out by our staff if necessary, all our senior staff have undergone training in the administration of medicines and first aid.

Arrangements can be made to take you to visit friends and relatives or to attend social occasions. If you wish to attend church we will be happy to take you, alternatively, it may be possible to arrange for a representative of your chosen religion to call at the home for prayers or communion.

 
Meals are usually served in the dinning room, however, you may eat in your own rooms if preferred. 

If the normal meal times in the home are not convenient, we will be pleased to serve you at your desired time.

 
All of our meals are prepared and cooked on the premises using fresh local produce when available. We offer an extensive menu and will always give you a choice of food, menu suggestions are always welcome. Special diets are available for individuals.

We always encourage visits from relatives and friends who are welcome to call at any time, no one needs to make an appointment. Light refreshments will be offered to visitors at no charge. There are no restrictions on visiting times, similarly, there are no restrictions on the movement of residents, you are free to come and go at any time.

 
Aims & Objectives
 
Kingfisher Residential Home aims to provide good quality care for all clients residing at the home. In keeping with good practice and for the benefit of residents the owner, management and staff aim to :
 

a. ensure all residents maintain their rights of independence and choice and to be personally responsible for their own actions.

b. promote the right of residents to care for themselves as far as they are physically and mentally able, and willing to do so.

c. give all residents the right to have their personal dignity respected by management, staff and others in every way possible, and to be treated as valued individuals.

 

d. provide personal space and privacy for themselves, their belongings and their personal affairs.

e. let each resident have a say and take part in any decisions about their daily living arrangements and any changes in the home that may directly or indirectly effect them.

f. provide access to facilities and services in the local community. 

g. give the opportunity to maintain contact and make new contacts with other people within the community by going out or by inviting them to the home.

h. ensure each his or her right to have cultural, religious, sexual and emotional needs accepted and respected.

i. Provide a safe and secure home for as long as it is needed.

j. Seek the maximum development of each individual within their own potential.

k. Promote within each individual the belief that his or her life and activities are as valuable and as valid as the rest of the population.

l. Assist clients in securing appropriate medical care and ensure that public services are provided to them, including registration with the medical practitioner and dentist of their choice.

m. allow each individual the right to take reasonable risks so long as it does not effect the safety and well-being of others in the home.

n. allow residents to leave the home if they wish to do so and to be assisted to leave if they choose to do so.
