As a family owned and run home, and because of our location near Blackpool's famous South Shore Promenade, Pendale is a popular choice for both long and short term care. We aim to ensure that Pendale is a happy, safe and friendly place to be, one where everyone can live and work together to create a satisfying family life.
 
We fully realise that we can never entirely recreate all the benefits of being at home, but we do try very hard to provide a level of comfort and companionship that's hard to find elsewhere.

In writing this short profile of our home we hope we can convey a true flavour of Pendale and we look forward to meeting in the near future. Call any time, and there will be a warm welcome and chance to see first hand what a friendly and happy home we have made at Pendale.

Our Philosophy of Care

Put simply, we want Pendale to be a happy, natural home-like place to live, a place where every resident can feel valued and appreciated for their individual qualities and differing personalities.
 

Privacy, Dignity and Confidentiality

Resident's rights to privacy and confidentiality are respected at all times. Every member of staff is made aware of the need to uphold these rights in all situations both inside and away from the home.

Enablement, Choice, Independence & Equality

Irrespective of their physical, emotional or psychological circumstance, we actively encourage each resident to retain their unique qualities and develop their full potential.
 

Care is provided by our dedicated team of carers, in sufficient numbers to ensure prompt attention to individual needs 24 hours a day. Our carers are fully supported by ancillary domestic and administrative staff. There is on duty at all times at least one experienced senior member of staff.

 
Situated in Greystoke Place, adjacent to Clifton Drive, The Pendale is ideally located with the Solarium Gardens and Sea front both just a short stroll away. Local shops are within easy walking distance and a little further away is the popular shopping area of Highfield Road. Easy and level access to the street and promenade areas encourages independence and keeping in touch with the local community.
 
Located on the ground floor at the front of the home both our lounges are airy and bright. Each lounge is tastefully decorated and furnished with comfortable high back arm chairs and sofas. The 'Sun Lounge" offers pleasant views over the Solarium Gardens and beyond to the promenade, this is the quieter of our two lounges where residents may sit peacefully and relax. The 'TV Lounge" on the other hand, is where our regular afternoon activities take place, these include bingo, exercises, physiotherapy, reminiscence and general quizzes, karaoke etc.

 
At the rear of the building there is a sheltered patio garden, this is a popular place for residents to sit during the summer months.

In addition to the afternoon activities, we organise regular outings and entertainment. These include shopping trips, summer country trips, theatre trips, sing-a-longs, entertainers, musicians and full days out to our holiday home on the shore of Lake Windermere in the Lake District National Park.

We encourage our residents to invite friends and family to visit as often as possible. Visitors are made to feel welcome at any time and are always offered light refreshments.
 
Each of our one twin and twenty two single bedrooms is tastefully decorated and thoughtfully equipped. Every resident has their own private en-suite toilet and most have a complete en-suite shower or bathroom. In addition to ample wardrobe and storage space, each bedroom contains a comfy armchair, a remote control colour television, an over bed table and reading light. Rooms are personalised to reflect individual styles and preferences with space for small personal items such as photographs, ornaments etc.
 
We encourage residents to make their own room as homely as possible. We have a five person passenger lift which ensures that all bedrooms are accessible without negotiating stairs. For the less mobile we have five ground floor rooms - two of which have been specially designed to minimise disability for wheelchair bound residents. There are additional bathrooms on each floor and a spacious assisted bathrooms on each floor and a spacious assisted bathroom, complete with hoist, on the ground floor for those with mobility difficulties. Residents may spend as much or as little time in their own rooms as they choose.
 
As well as permanent residency we also offer short and long stay residential respite care for both holidays and convalescence. Day care is also available and includes transport to and from the home, all care, meals, hairdressing, bathing, personal laundry and all the usual activities of the home.

Our prices start from Income Support and Social Services Rates. These are fully inclusive of 24 hour care, en-suite accommodation, all meals, laundry, activities, outings and hairdressing.
